January 2019 – New Year’s Letter

Happy new year, Cavi family! We hope you’ve had a restful and restorative holiday season.

This month marks the 1 year anniversary of me coming onboard more full-time in the role of chief strategist, and what a year it’s been! We never could have predicted all the ways in which we would grow and evolve as a business over the past 12 months, and yet through all the change and growth, we have found ourselves remaining in alignment with the business objectives which I outlined in last year’s letter:

  1. Free knowledge-sharing and dissemination of Cavi thought leadership
  2. Launching one or more paid products which generate ongoing revenue
  3. Prototyping of a proprietary, opinionated software tool built on Cavi principles

Sam has continued to build out our knowledge base in a variety of venues, including the Cavi blog, speaking engagements, training materials, educational offerings including a Skillshare class, the NYC meetup group (which has now grown to over 1200 members) and — of course — his first published book, Becoming A Conscious Business.

We developed and tested multiple product offerings for revenue generation; and expanded our consulting practice, taking on clients for everything from process analysis and redesign to product development roadmaps to white-label partnerships.

And we brought on an awesome UX/UI team to support the software tool development project, which is nearly at the initial MVP stage for beta testing.

We also have started to create a real Cavi community. We ran a summer internship program, offering training and career development to 7 fantastic college students, alongside our year-round advisor program which has brought in over 30 participants throughout the course of the year. And we launched the Cavi collaborators’ network, a peer-based, evolutionary accelerator where like-minded business owners can come together in-person and online to collaborate, share knowledge and create new ways of doing business.

Moving into 2019, we are building upon these core objectives further as we begin to deepen into our true roots as a knowledge company. We weren’t sure when we started out on this adventure what type of business Cavi would choose to become; now in hindsight it’s clear that everything we’ve created so far has always developed from a starting point of sharing knowledge…and specifically, the discipline of process science which underlies the Cavi Method.

In the coming months we have some ambitious projects and goals we are working towards. Sam is building a lot of content: developing a draft for a new book which will focus on the business application of process science; creating a certification program for Cavi practitioners; and authoring a whitepaper on change management. The collaborator network and advisor programs continue to grow and create new platforms for community building and business evolution. We plan to roll out more Skillshare classes, as well as developing other educational offerings as that opportunity arises. The software tool will move into beta testing sometime this year, with the aim of converting that MVP into a fully-funded SaaS product. We have begun to build new corporate partnerships as well as maintaining our existing relationship with JNN Group.

All of these plans and projects are very exciting, and we can’t wait to keep you updated on our progress. After all, we couldn’t have come nearly this far without the support we’ve received from all of you.

Thank you for believing in us and supporting our mission to bring in the process science revolution. We love you all and wish you a very expansive and abundant New Year.

Love,

Bridget Randolph, co-founder and chief strategist

(and Sam, Hassan, Jacques and the whole Cavi Team)
